Our Paid Time Off (PTO) policy begins with 15 days of vacation and personal time, along with 8 paid holidays, and 2 floating holidays per year for the first three years of service. After three years of employment, PTO is accrued at a rate of 20 days per year.

Professional Development and Training
Professional development and training is an extremely important part of our culture. Metron Aviation offers 100% reimbursement of allowable tuition/resource expenses up to $6000 per year for pre-approved courses completed with a grade B or better. We maintain strong relationships with leading universities and academic consortiums like NEXTOR and CATSR in addition to promoting career development and enrichment opportunities focused on developing balanced lives.
Fun Corporate Atmosphere
Our flexible and enjoyable work environment promotes employee social interaction. Ranging from monthly happy hours to competitive battles on the Nintendo Wii in our recreation zone, employees enjoy activities outside of work, through numerous community outreach projects, like the Dulles Plane Pull and company sporting teams.
PPO coverage that meets personal needs, Metron Aviation pays up to 80% of the premium for eligible employees and their eligible dependents including:
- Routine office visits
- Mental health services
- Professional, and Major Medical
- Retail and mail order prescription drugs
Dental insurance for all eligible employees and their eligible dependents, including:
- Preventative dental expenses
- Basic dental expenses
- Major dental expenses
Orthodontia expenses are also covered for eligible dependents under the age of 18. Metron Aviation currently pays 80% of the premium for all eligible employees including eligible dependents.
Vision insurance, as part of the medical coverage, for all eligible employees and their eligible dependents. This coverage includes annual doctor exams and corrective hardware offered at a discount through a co-pay system. Vision insurance can also be purchased as a stand alone benefit. Metron Aviation currently pays 80% of the premium for all eligible employees including eligible dependents.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Employees are eligible to participate in Metron Aviation's Health Care Flexible Spending Account and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account which allow payment of employee-paid insurance contributions, dependant/child care, and certain medical/dental expenses on a pre-tax basis (participation is optional).
Retirement and Profit Sharing Plan
401(k) Plan for all benefit-eligible employees. Employees may contribute up to the IRS maximum per year. Metron Aviation matches employee contributions up to 4%. Metron Aviation may make additional profit sharing contributions once per year.
Basic Life and AD&D insurance equal to two times annual salary up to 350k. Employees may purchase additional supplemental coverage for themselves, their spouse and eligible children. Short term and long term disability for employees is also available.
Employee Assistance Program
Employee assistance program with confidential consultation, practical information, and referral services to help establish a favorable work-life balance, address life issues and personal concerns.
Health and wellness are important to employees therefore Metron Aviation offers a one-time payment of an initiation fee up to $100 for an employee’s membership in a health club or gym. Metron Aviation pays 75% of the first $50 of monthly dues for gym memberships (a maximum of $37.50 per month).
