
Jack Kies
Executive Vice President and Chief Advisory Officer, Industry Advisory Services
Mr. Kies has more than 30 years of operational air traffic control and management experience. In 1994, he was appointed Manager of the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC), where 165 personnel managed the flow of 142,000 commercial, business, general, and military flights a day in the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS). He served as Director System Operations for the FAA from January 2002 until January 2005, managing operations for the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS).
Mr. Kies was an early proponent of Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) among system customers and service provider, leading the way to the development of air traffic management tools and strategies. Under Mr. Kies direction, a move towards real-time data exchange between airlines and the FAA became the backbone of the US Traffic Flow Management (TFM) system. Mr. Kies received a Bachelor of Science degree from Dowling College.
