Resource Allocation

Collaborative Routing Resource Allocation (CRRA)

Overview
Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) embodies a new philosophy for managing air traffic. The initial implementation of CDM has been aimed at Ground Delay Programs (GDPs). Work is currently underway within the aviation community to apply CDM technology and concepts to the management of en route traffic (Collaborative Routing). In contrast to the highly refined algorithms employed in GDPs, there is no corresponding resource allocation method for en route resources. The CRRA project:

Product Features

  • Applies CDM technology to en route traffic
  • Evaluates alternative resource allocation schemes
  • Strategic-tactical TFM interaction
  • Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of alternative resource allocation schemes
  • Defines the critical decision control variables necessary for proper en route flow control
  • Establishes a paradigm for strategic-tactical TFM interaction and route negotiation
