Metron Aviation Appoints Mark Gaffney as Director of Advanced Support

Dulles, Virginia—March 23rd, 2010 Metron Aviation, a leading provider of Air Traffic Management (ATM) services and solutions, announces the appointment of Mark Gaffney as Director of Advanced Support.  In this role Mr. Gaffney will manage Metron Aviation’s support of NextGen programs near the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in New Jersey.  Mr. Gaffney possesses 30 years of computer systems experience including managing systems integration, sustaining engineering, deployment and verification of systems and facilities.

Mr. Gaffney joins Metron Aviation from Lockheed Martin, where he spent the past six years managing transportation security and environmental programs.  During his tenure at Lockheed Martin, Mr. Gaffney was the Director of ATM Laboratories at the FAA WJHTC, one of the world’s leading aviation research and development facilities.  Mr. Gaffney helped establish, then managed Lockheed Martin’s sustaining engineering organization at the WJHTC.
