Metron Aviation Energy and Alternative Fuels Expert to Speak at 49th International Paris Air Show
Company Awarded Contract to Produce Handbook for Alternative Fuel Distribution Programs
Dulles, Virginia — June 16, 2011—Metron Aviation’s Energy and Alternative Fuels expert, Dr. Bruno Miller, will be speaking at the upcoming 49th International Paris Air Show. The Paris Air Show will be taking place in the Le Bourget exhibition center from June 20-26, 2011. The show brings together aviation stakeholders from around the globe to showcase cutting-edge technological innovations.
Dr. Miller will be speaking in a cycle of conferences at the Alternative Aviation Fuels Showcase, a dedicated area and a central defining theme of the entire show set-up by the organizers to recognize the importance of alternative aviation fuels. Dr. Miller will be speaking on two panels, including Integrated Supply Chain Models and Financing Structures. Integrated Supply Chain Models will identify best practices at the national and provincial levels for deploying and supplying alternative aviation fuels, while Financing Structures will focus on initiatives and options that are opening up for investors to secure resources to invest in alternative fuel projects.
Additionally, Metron Aviation has been awarded the Airport Cooperative Research Project (ACRP) 02-36, “Assessing Opportunities for Alternative Fuel Distribution Programs,” which is managed by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies and sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
“Meeting aggressive environmental goals for future aviation activity is a key component of success for the ACRP project,” said Dr. Terence Thompson, Vice President, Energy and Environment, and Chief Environmental Scientist. “Metron Aviation’s Environmental and Energy Services are the result of over 16 years of continuous and concentrated effort to reduce the aviation carbon footprint, fuel, emissions and noise impact.”
