Metron ArrivalsImproving arrival efficiency while enhancing safetyMetron Arrivals, deployable as a stand-alone solution or as part of the Metron Harmony integrated Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) solution, increases arrival efficiency by providing time-based sequencing and scheduling advisories for arrival traffic consistent with airport, terminal and en route constraints. When more than one runway is available for arrivals, Metron Arrivals provides runway allocations consistent with the efficient use of all available resources and defined constraints. When delays are necessary to satisfy the schedule, Metron Arrivals allocates delay to specific controller positions, to account for overall system efficiency, controller workload, integration with performance based navigation routes and the uncertainty associated with predictive scheduling. Metron Arrivals constantly adapts to a changing operational situation, such as controller actions, revised operational capacity, re-prioritization and weather impacts. Additionally, this product provides Calculated Takeoff Times (CTOT) for departures from close-in airports to the arrival scheduling airport, so that the impact on the arrival demand includes all aircraft — en route and on the surface — associated with the scheduling window. Additional features include processing of flight data, surveillance data, weather data and aeronautical information. The functionality then accepts airport and airspace related constraints (e.g., arrival rate and/or en route separation distance) from flow managers in order to create the arrival sequence and time-based schedule for each aircraft to discrete points along the arrival path (e.g., en route sector boundaries, terminal area boundaries and the arrival runway). A Streamlined Interface for Making Complex Decisions QuicklyMetron Arrivals provides a web-based user interface for flow managers that shows the arrival demand to en route arrival locations of interest and the arrival airport. Additionally, the resulting schedule and any delay allocation to controller positions are provided to the ANSP automation for communication to the controllers directly on the controller position displays. The common situational awareness provided by Metron Arrivals allows flow managers to determine when the demand warrants active controller involvement. This ensures that time-based schedules are only provided to controllers, when necessary to balance the demand with the available capacity.
